リナックス導入記

アップデートは「Yum」がラク

Yumはリナックスにソフトをインストールしたりアップデートしたりするのに便利なソフトです。
とくに簡単なところが、しかしWhite Box Enterprise Linux 4では標準でインストールされていません。
なのでまずはインストールからです。
※White Box Enterprise Linux 4 Respin 1からはインストール済みです。

Yumをインストールする

White Box Enterprise Linux 4のインストールCD4をCDドライブに挿入します。
CD-ROMが自動認識したらGNOME端末を開き以下のコマンドでインストールします。


	# rpm -ivh /media/cdrecorder/WhiteBox/RPMS/yum-2.2.0-0.fc3.noarch.rpm

※赤字部分はCDドライブの種類によって変わります。

これでYumのインストールは完了です。

Yumの設定

あとはネットワークに接続すればすぐにでも使えるのですが日本では理化学研究所のサーバに接続するのが一番アップデートのスピードが速いみたいなのでその設定を…。

Yumの設定ファイル「/etc/yum.conf」の内容を以下のように書き換えます。

4から4.1に換わっただけです。

また、64bit版の場合は「i386」を「x86_64」に書き換えてください。

GNOMEエディタなんかを使ってコピペするとラクですね。

これでYumの設定は完了です。

アップデート開始

GNOME端末から以下のコマンドを入力するとアップデートが始まります。


	# yum -y update

あとはほっといてCompleateと表示されれば終了です。
ちなみに終わるまで20分ほどかかりました。Fedora Core 4では1時間を越えました。

ちなみにオプションでつけた「-y」はすべての確認メッセージに「はい」と答えることを意味します。

そのほかに


	# yum install apache

※apache：WWWサーバソフト
などのように「yum install ソフトウェア名」で簡単にソフトウェアをインストールすることができます。

とまあ、こんなカンジでいつでもアップデートできる環境を作っておきました。
